BABA

In the image above, Baba, standing (in white suit with tie) with his family in 1926. Baba's first wife (Mama Rebecca's mother) is seated to Baba's right.  Mama Rebecca herself, alias Mama Ondo, is standing next to her father (Baba). Mama Rebecca is Baba's first child. Baby in his mother's laps sitting in the extreme right is Osunawegbe, Jonathan Odion's mother, with Baba's brothers and sisters and close relatives.

Baba was born in Eme-Ora in 1875 and died at age 72 in 1947.  All Pogosons' of African ancestry and descent anywhere in the diaspora have their roots in this great man.  He was a carpenter, builder, great Cocoa farmer, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a selfless missionary.  He was a Deacon, and one of the founding fathers of the CMS  Church in Eme-Ora.   He was widely travelled and spoke four languages, two of which he could read and write.
